We all enjoyed watching Advertising Company Google’s AI helperbot called Bard crash and burn last week. But eagle eyed journalists (read: not me) noticed something else that we should highlight; namely, Microsoft’s AI helperbot sucks too.
One advantage to Bing AI we covered last week was that it shared its sources. One disadvantage to Bing AI is that, like we also shared last week, AI apparently doesn’t read its own sources.
Dmitri Brereton highlights a few answers that the AI returned. These answers highlighted some interesting not-facts, such as the “short cord length of 16 feet” on a vacuum. On the one hand this is bad because 16 feet is not a short cord. On the other hand, it’s worse because the vacuum in question is cordless.
Check the sources. It’s all there. Bing AI just seems to have ignored them. Another user shared this gem, directly from the mouth of Bing AI: “Avatar: The Way of Water is not released yet. It is scheduled to be released on December 16, 2022, which is in the future. Today is February 12, 2023, which is before December 16, 2022.”
Absolutely perfect. No notes.
